Mathematics is truly one of the few things in life that every question has, presumably, a correct answer. In fifth grade, our focus is mainly working with place value, decimals, adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing of fractions, as well as basic conversions.

I am a firm believer that in math, like many other things in life, we should not move onto harder concepts until we have mastered the basics. This year we will be working on twelve different chapters.
The Goal: SHOW MASTERY IN EACH CONCEPT IN TWO DIFFERENT WAYS.
(Normal philosophy If you know it well enough to teach it, you are probably pretty well off.)
